India is a huge country that has a population of over 1.3 billion and is the second-most populated area. With the number of people living in this country, their love for sports is undeniable. India is one of the countries that produces world-class star players and some of the well-known sports leagues in India and around the world. One of these sports leagues is the Indian Premier League. It is a popular cricket league that showcased a lot of legendary cricketers and presented India in several international match series. These cricketers are the Indian National Cricket Team also known as the Men in Blue. Here are the 3 legendary cricketers from India:

 

Sachin Tendulkar

 

 

Tendulkar is also called the ‘Master of Cricket’ or the ‘God of Cricket’. In the age of 16, he is the youngest cricketer in India to debut in a Test series. Among his achievement are:

 

  • The only player who scored 100 international centuries
  • The only cricketer who completed more than 30,000 runs
  • He ranked as the second greatest Test Batsman at the Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack in 2002
  • In the whole duration of his career, he was able to win awards like Arjuna Award, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, Padma Shri, Padma Vibhushan Award, and Bharat Ratna Award

 

Sunil Gavaskar

 

 

Gavaskar is regarded as one of the greatest opening batsmen in the whole cricket history and is the player who sets numerous world records during his career. He was also admired because of his style and fast bowling technique with an average of 65.45.

 

Rahil Dravid

 

 

 

Dravid was also named as one of the greatest batsmen in the world. He is also the fourth-highest run-scorer in test cricket and is the second Indian cricketer to score a total of 10,000 runs in both ODIs and Test series. Some of his awards are:

 

  • Named as one of the best cricketers by Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack in 2000
  • Won the Player of the Year Award and the Test Player of the Year Award during the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2004.
  • With his outstanding skills, he also was also given a Padma Bhushan Award.
